My husband and I applied for a loan through
HSBC. From the moment we started the
loan process, they were activly aggressive to the point they called both my husband's work and mine before anything, just to make sure we were still going with them. I had a bad feeling about them from the start. But due to a financial circumstances, we had to do it at the time. Sure enough this year, my husband had to take a loan out through his job and this decreased his pay. We started having real problems making both housing payments. We called
HSBC and asked them if they could lower our rate or lower our payment. They declined. Then if we were a day late on the payment, they would call, even though we had 15 days to send it in. They continued even though we told them we could be fired. Then we really started to fall behind due to ever rising fuel oil prices. We asked if they could come up with some kind of consolidation plan. They said they'd try. They ask for all the
paperwork and then denied us again. Now we are two months behind and they are threatening us with a
lawyer. I had to borrow from my dad who I haven't borrowed money from since I was 10 just to get those payments in. Is there anyone who could help me with this? These people refuse to help in any way and I just want to get to figure out a way to get out from under them before they try to take my house.

They are not going to do anything to help you. You need to do everything in your power to make sure your payments are current with them and then move your loan (ref-) with a reputable lender ASAP!
