In August 07 I was divorced, in December 07 I lost my job. I contacted HSBC to request a temporary
loan modification. I sent in he requested documentation which included recent bank statement. The high balance was $30k and the current was $6k. The high balance showed a deposit I made from a loan I received from my parents to help me pay off some
debts. HSBC subsequently denied my request stating that I made too much money...it was a loan! Then they asked me why I haven't been able to find a job in 2 months! First of all HSBCs
loan modification people are clueless, inefficient and not there to help you. To add
insult to injury they chastise you for not being able to find a job in 2 months? Is that their place...I don't think so. Oh yeah and good luck trying to contact anyone to complain to without going through 40 people asking you to verify the
property address, phone number,
loan number, last 4 digits of your social etc. They absolutely suck!
